For Black History Month, we are highlighting a very prominent individual. Madam C.J. Walker is well-known in the beauty world as she is the creator and founder of the Madam C.J. Walker Company, a haircare brand that was developed with Black hair in mind. Inspired by her own hair disorder, Madam Walker created the "Walker System" that included products for the scalp as well as lotions and iron combs. Walker's haircare line was completely homemade, brought women's health to the forefront through her marketing, and carried out a personal touch that won many loyal customers. Known as America's first Black woman millionaire, Madam Walker became a highly successful entrepreneur and a well-admired and influential philanthropist.
